Ledger Live login: a safer way to reach your wallet
Ledger Live is the companion app for managing digital assets with a Ledger signer. Getting into your wallet is different from logging in to a regular website: the device is part of the security, and your recovery phrase belongs only to you.
Start with the official app. Download Ledger Live from Ledger’s official website or your device’s official app store. Check the publisher and address carefully before installing. A search result, message, advertisement, or unsolicited support link can lead to a convincing imitation. Bookmark the official download page after confirming it, and update the app only through trusted channels.
Open the app and connect your device. Ledger Live guides you through connecting a compatible hardware wallet and selecting the accounts you want to view. Your Ledger device is used to verify sensitive actions. Follow the instructions shown in the genuine app and on the device itself; the exact steps can vary by device, operating system, and app version. If you are setting up for the first time, follow Ledger’s official setup guidance.
There is no website password for your wallet. A web page asking you to log in with your recovery phrase, private key, or device PIN is not a safe way to access a Ledger wallet. Never type the 24 words into a website, share them with support, or photograph and store them online. Anyone who gets the phrase can potentially take control of the assets it protects. Ledger support will not need those words to help you.
Review every approval. Before confirming a transaction, carefully compare the destination, network, and amount in the official app with the details displayed on your Ledger device. Do not approve a request you did not initiate or do not understand. A connected app or browser extension can request actions, but the hardware device is your opportunity to inspect and reject them. Disconnect from suspicious sites and take time to verify unfamiliar requests.
Keep your software current. Install app and device updates from the official Ledger Live interface, and use a computer or phone you trust. Protect the device PIN, keep your recovery phrase offline in a secure location, and consider what access other people have to your screens and backups. If a device is lost, stay calm: recovery depends on securely held recovery information, not on sharing it with an online helper.
If something looks wrong, pause. Close unexpected pop-ups, check the app’s official support resources from a trusted bookmark, and never give remote access to someone who contacts you unexpectedly. Verify the app name and publisher when installing updates. A support representative cannot reverse a blockchain transaction or safely recover assets by asking you to approve an unfamiliar request. When in doubt, leave the transaction unapproved and verify the details independently before trying again.
